Terms of Service
These terms cover your account, your documents, and what LegacySave will and will not do on your behalf.
Effective 22 Jul 2026. Last updated 22 Jul 2026.
Acceptance of terms
These are the LegacySave terms of service. They form a binding agreement between you and LegacySave, the operator of the LegacySave family document vault (referred to in this document as "LegacySave", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the LegacySave iOS app, our website at legacysave.space, or any related service, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree to any part of these terms, do not create an account and do not use the service. If you use LegacySave on behalf of another person, for example a parent setting up a shared vault for the family, you confirm you have that person's permission to store their documents on the terms set out here.
These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Please read both.
Who can use LegacySave
LegacySave is built for individuals managing identity documents for themselves and their immediate family. It is not sold to businesses, and it is not licensed for corporate document management.
Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your country of residence, to hold a LegacySave account. Documents belonging to minor children may be stored in a family workspace by a parent or legal guardian, but the child does not hold the account.
One person, one account
Each account belongs to one natural person. You cannot share your account credentials with anyone, including your spouse or a parent — the correct way to give a family member access is to invite them into your family workspace so they get their own login. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity performed under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
Your family workspace
LegacySave is organised around a family workspace. You either create one and invite your family in, or you accept an invitation from a family member who has already created one. Documents added to the workspace can be viewed by other members of that workspace, subject to the roles you assign.
How invitations and roles work
Invitations are sent to an email address or shared via a link. Anyone who accepts an invitation joins your workspace and can see the documents in it, so send invitations only to people you trust with sight of your family's passports, Emirates IDs, driving licences, and certificates. You can remove a member at any time from inside the app.
Responsible member designation
For each document, you can designate a family member as the responsible person for renewal. That person receives the renewal reminders for that document in addition to the document owner. Designating a responsible member does not transfer ownership of the document, and it does not oblige that person to act — it only routes reminders. You remain responsible for making sure the designation is accurate and up to date.
Removing a member
When you remove a member from your workspace, they lose access to workspace documents on their next app open. Documents they personally uploaded remain in the workspace by default. Documents they had marked as private to their own account, if that feature is available in your app version, leave with them. We do not send a notification to the removed member; if you want them to know, tell them yourself.
What you can and cannot store
LegacySave exists for one purpose: to hold identity and legal documents for you and your family.
Personal and family identity documents
The service is designed for documents such as passports, Emirates IDs, driving licences, residence visas, national IDs, birth certificates, marriage certificates, education certificates, and similar records that belong to you or to members of your family workspace. You may also store copies of related paperwork such as tenancy contracts, insurance documents, and government letters that a family typically keeps together.
Prohibited content
You must not upload, store, or share through LegacySave any content that:
- Belongs to someone outside your family without their clear permission.
- Is a forged, altered, or fraudulent identity or government document.
- Contains payment card data, banking credentials, or full credit card numbers — LegacySave is not designed for card storage, and PCI-scoped data does not belong in it.
- Is unlawful to possess in your jurisdiction, including in the United Arab Emirates or India.
- Contains malware, exploits, or content designed to harm our systems or other users.
- Depicts child sexual abuse material or any other content that is illegal on its face.
If we become aware that content stored in your workspace breaches these rules, we may remove that content and, in serious cases, suspend or terminate the account without prior notice. Where the law requires it, we will cooperate with competent authorities.
Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee
LegacySave sends renewal reminders based on the expiry dates it reads from your documents. Please read this section carefully — it is one of the most important parts of the agreement.
LegacySave is not responsible for missed government deadlines
We do not renew documents for you. We do not liaise with the ICP, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior of India, the Passport Seva Kendra, BLS International, CGI Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority, or any other authority on your behalf. We send reminder emails and in-app notifications as a courtesy, and we do our best to deliver them, but delivery depends on your email provider, your device settings, your network, and factors outside our control.
If a reminder fails to arrive — because it was filtered as spam, your device was offline, your email address changed, or for any other reason — the underlying government deadline still applies. Fines, service blocks, and residency consequences that follow from a missed renewal are your responsibility. Use LegacySave as one layer of your reminder system, not as your only one.
Always verify expiry dates on the source document
LegacySave reads dates from your documents using optical character recognition. The technology is good but not perfect. Handwritten dates, low-contrast prints, damaged pages, and unusual document layouts can all produce a wrong reading. Before you rely on a date shown in the app, open the document itself and check. If a reading is wrong, correct it in the app so future reminders line up. You are responsible for the accuracy of the dates stored against your documents.
Your content and ownership
You retain full ownership of every document you upload
Your documents are your documents. Uploading a passport scan or an Emirates ID photo to LegacySave does not transfer any ownership, copyright, or other right to us. We do not sell your documents, we do not train artificial intelligence models on them, and we do not share them with advertisers or data brokers. Our detailed practices are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Limited licence granted to us to render and back up your files
To operate the service, we need a narrow, technical licence to handle your files on your behalf. You grant LegacySave a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, encrypt, back up, render on your devices, run OCR on, and transmit your uploaded content, strictly for the purpose of providing the service to you and your family workspace. This licence exists only while you keep the content in your account and ends when the content is deleted, subject to short retention windows for backups and audit logs described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not claim any right to use your documents for our own marketing, product demos, or any other purpose outside operating your account.
Fees and subscriptions
LegacySave may be offered as a free tier and one or more paid plans. Prices, quotas, and features for each plan are shown in the app before you subscribe. Where you subscribe through the Apple App Store, billing and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; where you subscribe directly through us, billing terms will be shown at checkout.
If you downgrade or cancel a paid plan, you keep access to any content you have already uploaded, but features specific to your previous tier — such as higher document counts or additional family members — may become read-only or unavailable until you upgrade again. We will not delete your documents solely because you moved to the free tier.
We may change prices for future billing periods with reasonable notice. If a price change applies to your renewal, we will tell you before it takes effect and give you the chance to cancel.
Account termination and data deletion
You can end your relationship with LegacySave at any time. We can end it too, in a narrow set of cases described below.
How to delete your account from inside the app
Open Settings inside the LegacySave app, tap Account, then tap Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm. When you confirm, we begin an irreversible deletion of your account, your uploaded documents, and their metadata. Encrypted document files are removed from storage within a short window, and database records are purged shortly after, subject to the audit and backup retention described in the Privacy Policy. You do not need to email us to delete your account — the button in the app is the primary route, in line with App Store rules.
What happens to shared documents when you leave a family
If you leave a family workspace but keep your own account, documents that other family members uploaded to that workspace stay with them — you no longer have access. Documents you personally uploaded remain in the workspace by default so that the family can continue to see them; if you want those removed, delete them before you leave. We can also terminate an account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe it is being used to breach these terms, to store prohibited content, or to defraud us or another user. Where we terminate, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export or delete your content unless the law or a safety concern requires us to act immediately.
Warranties and liability
LegacySave is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security incidents, although we take strong measures against all three — described in the Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LegacySave is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, government fines, visa consequences, or reputational harm arising from your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred United Arab Emirates dirhams (AED 100).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that applicable consumer protection law does not permit us to exclude.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms apply worldwide, but the governing law depends on where you live.
- If you are a resident of the United Arab Emirates, these terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and disputes will be resolved by the courts of Dubai.
- If you are a resident of the Republic of India, these terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes will be resolved by the courts of the city in which our Indian correspondence address is registered, or where the Information Technology Act, 2000 provides otherwise.
- If you are a resident elsewhere, these terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection right that applies to you in your place of residence.
Before taking a dispute to court, please contact us at support@legacysave.space. Most issues can be resolved quickly by email.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows, as the law changes, or to make them clearer. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use LegacySave after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept an update, you can delete your account from inside the app, as described above.
Non-material changes — typographic corrections, clearer phrasing that does not change the substance, updates to internal links — take effect when we publish them and we will not always notify you separately.
